Mrs. Leah Rubin, Principal, Chumash
Mrs. Leah Rubin, Principal and teacher at Bnos Chaya since 2005, has taught at Beth Rivkah High school, Bnos Menachem High School and Beth Rivkah Elementary School. Leah Studied at Beth Rivkah High School, holds a teaching certificate from Bet Chana Teaching Seminary, Tzfat and a B.A. in Judaic Studies. She runs successful Hebrew School and Women's programming as Shlucha in Clifton Park, NY and directs Albany's Women's Bet Midrash.
Rabbi Israel Rubin, Rosh Yeshiva
Rabbi Israel Rubin, regional director of Capital Chabad NorthEastern NY and Rosh Yeshiva at Maimonides Hebrew Day School, Graduated from Lubavitch Yeshiva HS, Montreal, Torah Umesorah Teachers Program, was ordained by Central Yeshiva Tomchei Temimim, Kollel Menachem Post Graduate Talmudic Studies. Among other positions, he worked as Rabbi at Camp Emunah for Girls. He is the author of the Albany Hagaddah, Shem Avosai as well as the Torah Times, a creative and relevant learning tool. It is an honor to have Rabbi Rubin teach at Bnos Chaya High school.
Rabbi Mendel Rubin, Tanya & Gemara
Rabbi Mendel Rubin was raised in Albany NY, and studied in Yeshiva and Rabbinical schools in Brooklyn, Paris and Israel. He enjoys preparing and sharing creative classes and relevant D'var Torahs. In addition to teaching Talmud and Tanya at Bnos Chaya, Rabbi Mendel, together with his wife, Raizy, direct the Shabbos House student Center at SUNY Albany and directs the TNT (Torah ‘n Technology) and APPS Programs at the Maimonides Hebrew Day School.
Mrs. Raizy Rubin, Mishlei
Mrs. Raizy Rubin was born and raised in Brooklyn and studied at Beth Rivkah Schools in Brooklyn and Michigan. She directs, together with her husband, the Shabbos House Student Center at SUNY Albany and teaches part-time at the Maimonides Hebrew Day School and Bnos Chaya High School.

Mrs. Rivi Bahir is an Israeli native with a rich background of Hebrew. She brings excitement into learning Hebrew, our special language.
Mrs. Dini Gordon, Navi
Mrs. Dini Gordon attended Bais Yaakov, Los Angeles, and holds a Teaching Certificate from Beth Chana, Tzfat. She has 15 years experience teaching a variety of grades, in Columbus, Ohio, Hebrew Academy, Huntington Beach, CA, Hebrew Academy, Phoenix, AZ, Preschool of the Arts, NYC, Rambam School, Montevideo, Uruguay, Garden School, Los Angeles, CA and Bais Chana High School, Los Angeles, CA. She has been teaching Navi in Bnos Chaya (as well as Kindergarten at Maimonides) for the past 5 years.
Mrs. Nechama Laber, Sichos
Mrs. Nechama Laber studied at the Beth Rivkah School. She received a teaching certificate from the Chaya Mushka Teacher’s Seminary in Montreal, Canada. She continued her studies in lesson planning and special education at Touro College in Brooklyn, NY. Before moving to Troy, NY, she has many years of teaching experience. She has also been a Hebrew (Sunday) school teacher at the Free Hebrew for Juniors in Montreal, Beth Israel of Schenectady, NY and with her husband, Rabbi Laber, reopened the Beth Tephilah Hebrew School in 1997. She founded the Capital Region Bat Mitzvah Club in 1998 and the JGR (formerly Bat Mitzvah Camp) in 1999. Nechama has been teaching at Maimonides & Bnos Chaya since 1998.
Mrs. Leah Caras, Web Design
Mrs. Leah Caras, founder and senior graphic designer for Carasmatic Design (formerly LL Design), has been teaching Graphic Design to Bnos Chaya students for the past 2 years. Leah has created hundreds of postcards, flyers and brochures for for every type of event and business. She is also the founder, publisher and designer of YALDAH magazine for Jewish girls. She holds a BA from UMass Amherst where she studied business.
Mrs. Chaya-Bracha Rubin, Creative Writing Parsha
Mrs. Chaya Brocha Rubin holds a B.A. in English, and creative writing is her passion. In the past she has taught Creative Writing at Cornell University's Summer Teen Program. She currently teaches Kindergarten at Maimonides. She is a talented singer and actor and teaches a Creative Parsha class at Bnos Chaya, as well as leads Melavei Malka and Farbrengens.
Mrs. Abbey Ramsay, History
Mrs. Abbey Ramsay has taught extensively throughout the area and has been teaching Social Studies to Middle School- High School at Maimonides & Bnos Chaya, for the past 2 years.
